Why We Need to Talk About AI Without Fear

We live in a time where each of us has access to something unbelievable — tools that hold the collective knowledge of the world.

Philosophers, artists, scientists — all their work is now accessible and “alive”, through a device we control with our fingertips.

That alone is insane.

The fact that each of us can now talk to a tool (I specifically mean gpt4–o) that has (according to a test often used) an IQ over 120 through, a brick in our pocket is absolutely mind-boggling.

Yet, so many people are stuck in fear:

• AI will steal jobs.

• AI will replace us.

• AI will destroy us.

Of course, change brings challenges. But most of this fear comes from our resistance to letting go of the old ways. We cling to outdated beliefs instead of asking how these tools could help us grow.

But why do we always jump to what could go wrong? Why are we so obsessed with who’s wrong, why it’s wrong, or what’s risky about creating with AI?
