Maybe you feel a bit lost these days. Like you are not really at the place you wanna be. And even if you know what you wanna do, there is something holding you back.
Let’s be real. Most of the time, we do stuff to please others. To fit into the boxes society wants us to be in.
But there comes this point where you had enough. Where you feel the urge to break out of this.
What Does It Mean to Find Your Place in the World?
I think it means listening deep within yourself. Tuning out all the noise around you telling you what you should do.
And instead asking yourself: If I could do ANYTHING in the world, no matter how crazy it sounds, what would it be?
It’s time to dream big my friend.
Time to connect to your inner child again.
The one that still felt that spark for adventure, for exploration. That felt wonder about the world.
Maybe this inner spark wants you to move somewhere else. Maybe it wants you to follow a passion you denied yourself for so long because you thought it wasn’t “realistic”.
Maybe it just wants you to say NO more often. To not do stuff that doesn’t align with your core anymore.
Anyway, you get the idea. It’s time to break out of the cocoon 🦋 Out of the tight suit that doesn’t fit anymore.
To not let our insecurities hold us back anymore. Easier said than done though, right? (Btw, I am not excluding myself from this work, I am on this path the same way as you are!)
Here are 3 tips that can help you on the journey:

1. Separate yourself from the noise
Before you can find your place in the world, you need to separate yourself from all the noise telling you what you should do.
Be it society’s expectations, your parent’s wishes or even your friend’s opinions.
Next time you talk with someone, pay attention how often they say “You should do this” or “You have to do that”.
Then imagine it’s just a radio playing in the background. It’s not YOU who has to do anything.
This little mental trick helps you distance yourself from all these expectations. So you can actually listen within and find what YOU want.
2. Explore your current obstacles
We all have certain beliefs and obstacles holding us back from doing what we really want. That’s normal. But we have to dive deeper to identify them.
You can simply ask yourself: “What is currently holding me back from doing what I really want?”
Then explore whatever comes up. Maybe you’ll find limiting beliefs like “It’s too late for me” or obstacles like “I don’t have the money”.
Once you identified them, you can work on rewiring these beliefs and finding solutions for the obstacles. This will give you more space to develop your autonomy.
3. Take small steps
When we want to make big changes in life, they often seem so scary and hard from our current perspective. So just focus on taking small steps first.
Maybe today you’ll just research opportunities in that field you always wanted to work in. Or you explore cool places to travel to even if you can’t go yet.
Over time as you take more small steps towards what you truly want, you build that autonomy more and more. Until one day you’ll wake up and realize just how far you’ve come!
The key is not to expect overnight changes. But to stay persistent with those small steps, chipping away at that cocoon each day.
You got this! Wishing you lots of sparks as you find your place in the world 🔥
